I can’t make the date, can I transfer my entry to someone else?
Yes. If you cannot make the date – you will be able to transfer your entry to another person for no additional cost. Please email 10K@caerphilly.gov.uk.
Can I have a refund on my race entry instead?
Sadly, we are not in a position to offer refunds. As per our terms and conditions we are unable to offer participants a refund in the event of a postponement.
How old must I be to enter the event?
The Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10k entrants must be at least 15 years of age. 2k Fun Run entrants must be at least 7 years of age.
When do entries close?
You can enter up until the day of the event.
I have entered the event, how do I know my entry has been received?
If you entered online you will receive a confirmation email shortly afterwards. If this did not happen please contact us via email at 10k@caerphilly.gov.uk
What will I receive in the build up to the event?
All runners will receive an information pack including a running number and a chip to track their time during the run. These packs will be distributed two weeks prior to the event.
Which category do I fall under?
The affiliated category is for those registered with an affiliated running club. The non-affiliated category is for those who are not affiliated with a running club.
How do I make changes to my registration?
Changes to your entry can be made by emailing 10k@caerphilly.gov.uk
When will my pack arrive?
Packs will be sent out around two weeks before the event including entrant’s run numbers and timing chips. If you haven’t received your pack by Wednesday 8th May please email 10k@caerphilly.gov.uk.
When will I receive my t-shirt?
T-shirts will be given out following the completion of the run. A medal will also be given out separately
I have entered but am unable to take part, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately we are unable to refund entry to the Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10k.
Is there a time limit to complete the run?
The Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10k has a two hour cut-off point. This is to ensure minimal disruption is experienced from road closures.
Where is the start, finish and participants village?
The run starts on Crescent Road in the shadows of Caerphilly Castle. Surrounding the start/finish line you will find the participants village.
Is the route fully sign posted and marshalled?
Yes, the route is fully sign posted and there will be marshals throughout directing you along the correct route.
Can I take part in the run wearing fancy dress?
We do not encourage fancy dress, the event is run under UK athletic rules and participants have a duty of care to both themselves and their fellow competitors when taking part.
Can I wear headphones?
The use of headphones is prohibited whilst running the Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10k. The reason for this is to allow for the communication of important information such as warnings regarding emergency services and course marshals.
Will there be anywhere to store my bag during the event?
There is a free baggage marquee on site for use of those who have officially entered the event , entrants need to supply the detachable part of their number on the day to use the baggage service.
Is the course suitable for a wheelchair?
Yes wheelchair participants are encouraged. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to us on social media.
What do I get for my money?
You’ll get an information pack delivered to your door that will include your entry running number and a tracker chip that will allow you to go online to view your time. Following the run, all participants will then receive a Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10k t-shirt and a new and improved medal.
Will there be a photographer present on the day?
Yes there will be a photographer present on the day. The gallery will be placed online within 48 hours of the run concluding. Pictures will then be available for purchase directly from the photographer. An announcement will be made on social media when the gallery is live.
Is water available during the event?
Yes, water for all participants is available in both runs.
What do I do if I need medical attention while at the event?
Medical staff will be present on the day if you begin to feel unwell. Simply ask your nearest steward to direct you in their direction. We advise that you do not run in the event if you are feeling unwell in days building up to the run.
